Sober North Holland combined with stylish Italian

At the end of September, DecoLegno on the Rak in Westzaan opened its new headquarters with a beautiful showroom. The plan for the new construction of its own larger location was already there before the coronapandem and finally the choice was made to actually go ahead with the construction. The interior design was provided by STUDIOJEROENDEJONG. Saskia ten Cate (communications manager of DecoLegno) used that design to create the mood concepts for all the rooms. Together with building partners NUNC Architects, Hecon, B22, and Studio Rublek, the challenging design came to life.

STUDIOJEROENDEJONG was asked to translate the aesthetic desires combined with DecoLegno's commercial interests into an interior design. "The most important thing in the design, was to arrange the volumes well," says Jeroen. "All the elements in the offices and showroom had to fit together and fit in well. The building was delivered as shell, which was a big challenge because all the technology had to go in as well. Like a kind of watchdog, we kept an eye on the concept during construction. We were actually still designing while we were already building. That was a very big challenge, but with the positive project team at DecoLegno, we more than succeeded. For me, the most important feature of the end result is that you feel senang in the showroom, that it's right and everything fits together."

From the interior design, Saskia ten Cate developed the ambience concepts for the various spaces in the new building. Saskia: "The new headquarters of DecoLegno had to become primarily a place for encounters. A place for co-creation and collaboration as well as a place for creativity for our colleagues and clients." All spaces in the building have a distinct atmosphere. Saskia was inspired by the down-to-earth North Holland culture of DecoLegno combined with the stylish Italian design feel of Cleaf. You can see the decorative sheet material collection in all the custom furniture. "The response from my colleagues and our visitors reinforces my feeling that we have created an experience that is right," Saskia said.

The overall look of the showroom embraces you. It inspires, facilitates and activates the designer, processor and end customer. The entire collection of decorative sheet material (Cleaf & HPL Specials) and solid surface (Durasein®) can be admired there on large panels so that you get the best impression of the decor and structures.
