Due to continuous growth of brokerage firm Sharp Insurance Brokers Offices, it was decided in the year 2021 to convert a historic building in Oudenaarde into a modern and pleasant office building for its more than 30 employees. The location involved the old offices of a former textile mill Saffre Frères in Oudenaarde, dating back to the nineteenth century. The original two-story industrial look with brick facades and a concrete inner skeleton were preserved.
For client and architect, this project was certainly also about the best acoustic comfort. So for the office function, this reconstruction was of great importance. However, at the same time, the high-quality acoustic solution also had to fit by creating a warm and homely atmosphere. There was also an additional challenge: Due to the intended preservation of concrete vaults and the industrial look, no correction was possible on the ceiling panels.
Ultimately, Triplacoustics' expertise was called upon to further assist in the development of the concept. Among the many acoustic solutions, architect and client chose the integration of grooved panels with micro-perforations in the entire interior.
The cooperation between the manufacturer Triplacoustics, the wall and furniture installers Vossaert interior and van Holder and the architectural firm DnA van Oudernaarde went very smoothly, allowing the office to be in use on the planned date in 2022. Client and architect were delighted with the successful combination, i.e. how acoustics and aesthetics went hand in hand in this total project. Indeed, one of the biggest strengths of this product is the total integration of custom acoustic panels such as walls, cabinet doors, open niches and ventilation panels. All panels were done in veneer European oak Decospan and they were oiled with a warm wenge color developed specifically for this project.
The manufacturer, a division of Triplacoustics, specializes in the development, production and supply of acoustically damping panels, doors and individual elements. The solutions, standard or customized, are integrated into a wide variety of applications. The company works with architects, installers and building owners to always work out the most appropriate solution for each application. The acoustic damping solutions consist of a core in MDF with a top layer in Print HPL from Abet Laminati, high-quality veneer from Decospan, solid or deco slats on felt, lacquer, Ntgrate vinyl or digital printing, as well as an acoustic damping glass fleece on the back or in the middle.
Print Acoustics aims to develop and produce the most efficient, stable and decorative acoustic damping solutions based on the Helmholtz principle to achieve reverberation reduction caused by the human voice. In this way, the company contributes to improved acoustic comfort and a healthier indoor environment in buildings.
Print Acoustics offers the international project market a wide range of efficient, decorative and durable sound absorbing panels tailored to each application. These solutions based on the Helmholtz principle consist of a high-quality core with a high-quality, easy-to-clean top layer. Together with a high-quality network of partners, the company guarantees on a local level a lot of personal support during the project. This takes place from the time of the specification to the time of installation.
All Print Acoustics acoustic damping products are developed and manufactured in-house. They undergo thorough testing in the reverberation chamber of an independent acoustics lab before being put on the market. After a thorough study and the technical drawing of each order, the panels, doors and individual elements are produced at the factory in Harelbeke (Belgium). The quality of the products is strictly controlled both during and after the production process.
