Powder coating specialist MFI Coatings from Paal was in need of a new office building. The former building was outdated and lacked character, both for employees and customers. The company opted for a complete new building, with a lot of attention to the interior design. The steellook partitions divided the office space without compromising the openness and ample light inside. Divina proved to be the ideal solution for this project.
The new office of MFI Coatings had to be a contemporary building with a strong appearance. Interior designer Jo Lamberts created a design. It caught on immediately, recalls CEO Erik Van Hool. "Conceptually, we didn't really have any comments. We were also immediately charmed by the steellook joinery inside. It really suited the openness and sleek interior style we had in mind."
With that design, Van Hool went to Glaswerken Van Regenmortel, among others. The experienced installer presented several possible solutions for the glass partitions and doors. In the end, the choice fell on divina from ARLU. "This system best matched the client's requirements because the door only opens to one side and has a stop. So there are no gaps next to the door, unlike a pivot door. Moreover, there are no screws or hinges visible after assembly, which contributes to the aesthetics of the whole," explains co-manager Julie Van Regenmortel. "At the same time, the divina system guarantees that even with the door open, the wall still runs beautifully."
Van Regenmortel worked out a total of five divina walls for the new office building. Due to their modular nature and precise customization, the possibilities with divina are virtually endless. For example, on the second floor a configuration of 2,800 millimeters high was needed, while on the ground floor walls with a height of 2,600 millimeters sufficed. The glass revolving doors were supplemented with glass partitions of different lengths and divisions, in order to give the partition a modern and elegant finish.
Anyone commissioning a commercial building usually strives for a short turnaround time. Such is the case with MFI Coatings. Smooth execution, both of the structural work and the interior finishing, is crucial to meeting these often tight deadlines. The installation of the divina walls was already predictable. "We have placed doors and walls in divina from ARLU before," explains Julie Van Regenmortel. "To ensure a pleasant working environment, acoustic foam was installed against the ceiling with a thickness of 35 millimeters. Fortunately, this did not hinder the installation of the walls."
In October 2023, MFI Coatings moved into the new building. "In the meantime, we received a lot of positive feedback on our office design, often specifically about the divina walls," says Erik Van Hool. "They ask what product it is and who installed them. This way we inspire not only our own team, but also external visitors. I can recommend it to everyone."
