Durable adhesives and sealants for construction

Sustainable products and packaging. But also: sustainable applications, long opening times and simple and safe processing. During the Interieur Collection Days (InCoDa) in Gorinchem, Bostik's booth will be completely dedicated to sustainability.

From the home to the office, Bostik's smart adhesives and sealants can be found everywhere. Not surprising, since the global market leader has been developing innovative adhesives and sealants for the construction, industrial and consumer markets for over 100 years. Since 1889, more than 9,000 technologies have been patented, from aerospace adhesives to the latest generation of polyurethane sealants. Since 2015, Bostik has been part of the Arkema Group, which has a very high commitment to sustainability and even ranks among the top 10% most sustainable companies in the world. 

"In all our developments, sustainability comes first," emphasizes Roos Ysebaert, Marketing & Communications B2B at Bostik Benelux. "Both at company and product level. For example, we are taking numerous initiatives to improve our product packaging and product composition. That we do not make empty promises in this, we show, for example, during InCoDa."

Live demonstrations

At Bostik's booth, visitors will be able to watch several live demonstrations, particularly focused on subfloor pre-treatment. "The Benelux market has many existing buildings that need to be sustainably preserved for the future," Ysebaert emphasizes. "We contribute to this with a wide range of smart and high-quality products, which have a very positive impact on the lifespan of existing subfloors. To make visitors aware of all the possibilities, the entire subfloor renovation process is covered. From repairing cracks and moisture barriers to (re)leveling the subfloor and gluing a wide range of finishing floors."

Tip of the hat

Ysebaert already hints at the products visitors can expect in any case. "Two international experts from Bostik will give four to six demonstrations every day. For example, with the STIX A800 PREMIUM; a very widely applicable acrylic dispersion floor adhesive with a very high shear strength and a long open time. Thanks to the long open time, applicators can work more quietly and precisely, but also tackle larger areas in one go. The floor adhesive is ideally suited for flexible floors such as LVT floors, rubber floors and PVC floor strips." 

The FIX A570 MULTI TACK is a universal floor adhesive for non-slip, removable and recyclable bonding of carpet tiles and, for example, the excellent choice for office buildings, BREEAM and LEED projects, explains Ysebaert. "Very innovative in this context is also our WOOD H770 ECO PREMIUM; an ecologically sound SMP-Hybrid parquet adhesive for e.g. parquet, sanded OSB, chipboard and plywood that will be available in the near future in ecological packaging."

Free of harmful emissions

All listed products are certified to EMICODE® EC 1 PLUS, demonstrating compliance with the most stringent emission requirements. "Our products emit as little or even no harmful substances as possible, allowing applicators and end users to rely on the very best indoor air quality."

Novelty in moisture separation

To ensure optimal floor durability, careful moisture separation is essential. Bostik is happy to contribute to this as well. During InCoDa, the market leader in adhesives and sealants is introducing an innovative two-component moisture barrier, which
is ideally suited to control rising damp in cement-bound substrates. 

"Unique to HYTEC E736 TURBO is the ultra-fast drying time of only 4 hours," Ysebaert says. "But also the very low consumption, which means that a large area can be covered with one bucket. That, too, is sustainable, in our opinion."
