Always looking for improvements

Bijlard International has been known as a true manufacturer of high quality adhesives and sealants since 1956. Products it supplies to the end consumer and the (intermediate) trade. The adhesive producer has long been strongly represented in many industries and has been making strong inroads into the parquet industry, among others, for the past seven years. Bijlard does this with a complete range of floor adhesives and related articles.

The question is often asked whether products can be made even better  "There is actually no doubt about that," said director Peter Bijlard. "The quality of the products is already high, but at our laboratory and in production we strive to improve it even further. Through testing, research and ultimately application, the end consumer gets a higher-quality product."

The revolutionary alternative to PU adhesive.

The demand from the market is actually simple; it must be greener and more sustainable, without loss of quality. Bijlard: "Unique is the input from our customers. That is perhaps the most important contribution. Ultimately, they know much better than we do how and where the adhesives are applied and what the processability of our products is like in practice. They help look for improvements and opportunities."

That this relentless search is paying off was evident at the recent edition of Interior Collection Days 2019 in Gorinchem. From September 15 to 17, Bijlard was present at this flooring fair. Three new products were presented during this fair: the MS-2K FLOOR, the Sqraper^® A3 and PVC adhesive FLOOR.

First, the MS2K FLOOR; the revolutionary alternative to PU adhesive. "We had to wait a long time for it but finally there is a green and sustainable alternative to the Polyurethane adhesive (PU-2K). The MS 2K FLOOR is an environmentally friendly 2-component parquet adhesive developed in cooperation with our customers that is fully loadable after two hours. The unique formula prevents plasticizers from penetrating the wood. Also, this product is suitable for accommodating height differences between the wood and the subfloor up to 100%. Not only is the adhesive dry much faster, but research shows that the cross-linking is even better, making the adhesive twice as strong. PU adhesives are not good for people and the environment because of isocyanates present in the adhesive. So if you want sustainable, choose MS2K."

This bucket can be emptied to the lowest drop.

 As the second new product, the PVC adhesive FLOOR was introduced to the industry. Due to the many requests from the market but also due to the popularity of PVC as a floor covering, the addition of this adhesive to the product range could not be avoided. "This is a product that is just a little bit different. The adhesive with extremely high tack, is white when put on and dries transparent after 20 to 40 minutes. So it is easy to see when the strips can be applied. An additional advantage is that with this adhesive we are not only meeting the demand from the parquet industry; we can also serve home furnishers with this product."

Also new is the Bijlard Sqraper A3^®. Specially designed for the new PVC adhesive FLOOR but also extremely suitable for applying contact adhesives. Its unique design makes it possible to empty every bucket to the lowest drop.
