VCBL-HD: multitalented for CNC woodworking.

Thin and delicate components or heavy solid wood with rough surfaces, the new block piston from Schmalz clamps everything securely while the CNC machine mills. The VCBL-HD thus saves time-consuming set-up processes and speeds up woodworking.

Schmalz has developed a new tubeless vacuum clamping system for CNC machine tools. The VCBL-HD clamps onto 1- and 2-circuit console tables and ensures accurate milling results due to its high holding force and lateral force absorption. The VCBL-HD replaces its predecessor VCBL-A: it used to hold rough surfaces of heavy solid wood panels with its special suction plates made of sanding linen but was too abrasive for sensitive surfaces. At the same time, the VCBL-HD complements the earlier VCBL-K1 and K2 series, which were designed for lighter and delicate workpieces.

The new block piston thus combines the advantages of the two VCBL versions available so far: the aluminum housing provides sufficient stability even for heavy plates and high forces. Thanks to the adjustable sealing cord, the interchangeable suction plate fixes even structured surfaces firmly and securely. Although the suction plate offers sufficient holding force for solid wood, mineral materials and laminate, the contact surface is soft enough to clamp even thin and fragile surfaces without damaging them.

For even more flexibility, Schmalz has created rotatable suction plates. This allows the block piston to adapt perfectly to different workpiece shapes. An integrated NFC tag communicates, if required, all relevant product data such as spare part numbers, via smartphone in the Schmalz ControlRoom app.
