Founded in 1983, Octo-Plus Interieur moved from Grou to their brand new production hall and office in Heereveen in early 2020. At the old location they had outgrown their premises. The move and new building also included state-of-the-art machinery. With their 5 axis CNC milling machine from HOMAG they can handle anything. Besides the quality of the machines, the tools are also an important component.

Johan Brinksma, co-owner of Octo-Plus interior, says: "We make many interiors for schools and work mainly in the higher business segment. Yacht building, wall covering and acoustic solutions... you name it. It is very important that the quality we deliver meets the highest standards. A while back we had problems with cutting tight miters. The miters did not fit nicely and were not sharp enough. You can't afford that in this segment. Then we contacted Henk Overdiep of Leitz Service BV who, together with his colleague John Tigelaar, came by to look at a suitable solution."

Razor-sharp miters

"We source our tools from a number of parties of which Leitz is one. For the miter problem, Leitz advised us to use circular saw blade Katana for CNC machining centers. Now the miters are razor-sharp and accurate to the tenth millimeter. Everything fits exactly according to the drawing. It really is a top product for machining veneer, solid wood, HPL and melaminated material which can be very fragile. Even miters with edge banding are no problem with this saw. The edges are tight and no longer need finishing."

Noise reduction of 8dB(A)

The Katana circular saw blade for CNC machining centers is ideally suited for cuts that become sight edges on an interior piece. Post-processing of the cutting edge is no longer necessary. The saw blade is supplied from stock in diameters from 180 to 350mm and can be reground up to 10 times.
