In 2024, users of Palette CAD software package can expect several innovations and improvements, co-owner Jeroen Smeets enthuses. "We spent six years working on another Palette CAM link. This one is completely new and works much better."
Palette CAD allows interior builders, designers and architects to create detailed designs of interiors. These designs can be forwarded to all known machines thanks to the Palette CAM connection. This integration with CNC machines saves a lot of time and prevents errors.
"Still, there are some areas of improvement for the current link. That is why we are now coming up with a new variant. This one is more versatile and fits better with the new software programs of our time. In addition, we take much more account of different production methods per sheet, project or machine. With the new Palette CAM coupling, it is possible for the customer to have control over which plate may be milled in way A, and which plate may be milled in way B."
Previously, Palette CAD employees had to make updates and changes to the link manually, but that's a thing of the past with the new version. "Anything new customers get automatically, so that's another big advantage. And customers can adjust almost all the settings within the drawing environment themselves if they want to. This makes us very excited about the new link."
The new version of Palette CAM is already available now, but is being rolled out on a machine-by-machine basis, according to Smeets. "Currently the link is already suitable Format 4 machines and also already for Homag machines and SCM machines. The other machine brands will follow this year. We have now installed the new version at three customers and they are as positive as we are. This development offers nothing but benefits."
There is more to tell, however, as Palette CAD is also coming out with a separate machine coupling for Blum Easystick this year. "This coupling will soon be available to all customers as standard, at no extra charge. We are then, for the time being, the only CAD program that can be interfaced with Blum's software, which is widely used by start-up entrepreneurs." With this, the company offers a convenient addition to the Palette CAD Start package, which is also very suitable for smaller interior design companies. "We are still working on many other developments in Germany, but we cannot say anything about this for the time being."
At the end of this year, Palette CAD will again be present at ProWood in Belgium. "Here, too, the entire wood industry will be there. We will present our new links and other novelties. For example, new materials and objects will be added to the catalog. At the fair, we will also show the Jungle cabinet, known from our advertisements, in real life. The company Moldura Interior Works from Valkenswaard made this for us using Palette CAD and Palette CAM, thus showing that you can also design and produce special designs with Palette CAD."
