OPTIMAT GROUP's latest development in the field of automation was immediately one of the eye-catchers at the recent Prowood trade fair. Under the name OPTIFLOW 100, the distributor of machine builder HOMAG introduced its own modular total solution, with which any company, including SMEs or small workshops, can easily take the step to automation. 

"The range of HOMAG and OPTIMAT GROUP already includes numerous solutions that allow companies to automate their processes. These include robotic systems, such as the SORTBOT R-300 sorting cell, the PAQBOT I-300 packaging aid, the FEEDBOT for loading and unloading CNC machining centers, and proprietary customized robotic solutions for the most complex challenges," says sales manager Peter van Zijp. "For SMEs and smaller workshops, however, such an installation with robots is in many cases a bridge too far. After all, for their application a robot is often overkill and the investment is too high. The available space and the height of the workshop also play a role. In order not to leave those companies out in the cold, we developed OPTIFLOW 100. The investment for this modular solution is up to 50% lower than for automation with robots and the required space is also considerably smaller. Thanks to its compact design and minimal safety zone, this system is ideal for workshops with limited space and ceiling height, for example."

Tailored to customer needs

Under the motto "We optimize your woodflow," OPTIMAT GROUP offers a wide range of machines for various applications in the wood industry, such as the EDGETEQ edge glueing machines, the CENTATEQ and DRILLTEQ CNC machining centers and the SAWTEQ dividing saws, as well as the STORETEQ panel warehouse and the return systems of the LOOPTEQ series. So now the OPTIFLOW 100 total solution is also being added.

"We fully customize the design to meet the needs of customers and their applications. This solution is suitable for panels up to 2800 x 800 x 400 mm, from 350 x 120 x 8 mm. The conveyor can buffer up to 12 meters of pieces, with an average capacity of ten pieces per cycle. This allows one to work very efficiently," explains the sales manager. "Moreover, our OPTIFLOW 100 is compatible with all types in the HOMAG DRILLTEQ range of vertical CNC machining centers, ensuring that such a system can be seamlessly integrated into any new or existing production environment. Consideration was also given to user-friendliness for operators. After all, they can start using it without prior specialized training or expensive modifications. At a usage rate of 8 hours per day, a company will have recouped this investment over a period of only 2.5 years. OPTIFLOW 100 is therefore an extremely cost-effective solution, providing increased efficiency and productivity in any production environment."
