'We think outside the box of standard colors'

The first quarter so far has been above expectations for Anker Stuy Coating, says commercial director Emile Stuy. "2023 was a challenging year, partly due to inflation and the aftermath of raw material price increases. Nevertheless, 2023 ended positively and demand in 2024 is higher than we expected. The year also kicked off with the introduction of new colors for the furniture and interior design industries."

Anker Stuy markets newly developed colors with official color fans. Of these, the first edition was sold out within a month. The second edition will be available again in March. "For inspiration, we look at trends in the market and speak with renowned interior designers to develop color concepts. Thus, in addition to this color range, we also have an industrial samples folder, which includes, for example, copper and gold effects." 

Matte and natural appearance

Anchor Stuy Coating offers a total system of stains and varnishes. Stains for staining the wood, and the varnish for scratch-resistant surface protection. "This is available in a natural matte gloss to high gloss finish. The focus is on water-based products, but they also have solvent-based offerings, as there is still a need for these." 

Emile explains what customers can expect from the new series of stains and lacquers. "First of all, a matte and natural look is very much in demand, this is what we respond to with the lacquer. Our
Anti-scratch furniture lacquer provides an untreated look, without glare marks. Especially with dark colors, this is very important."

Special equipment for matching service 

Anker Stuy thus takes market developments into account, but thinks even more broadly than this. "We offer a solution for every project, and are very versatile, with an obvious high quality. Sometimes a color is faded, or our customers want to recreate a sample. For this we offer a special matching service. This is a service that allows us to recreate a color within a week. No matter whether it is a transparent color or an opaque color. We are very good at this and have special equipment for this. This is very much appreciated by our customers. We think outside the box
of the standard colors."

In addition to good products, Anker Stuy also offers personal support to its customers. "Together with Select Partners, we can take them by the hand. That's especially nice when switching to a different product group. Then we look up to the spray room with them." 

Furthermore, furniture makers are welcome to attend the company's training days three times a year. "Then they can take a look in our kitchen and we give all possible information. These days fill up quickly, so be sure to sign up for the training days on Sept. 19 and Nov. 21!"
