"For furniture makers and interior builders who want to do custom work, IronCAD quickly becomes the obvious choice," says Sander Meijboom. "Projects within the interior design industry are changeable. Think of materials or dimensions that change at the last minute. This cannot be captured in preset configurations, but requires flexibility." Binnenwerk spoke with Bas Korfage and Sander Meijboom, both product developers and trainers of CAD software at Dynfos Business Solutions.
That the software is used by interior designers is not surprising. After all, Dynfos has its origins in interior design. Since 2016, the company has been on its own and has grown rapidly. With real-world knowledge, this total provider works with a team of more than fifteen colleagues on a daily basis to optimize and automate business processes. In this process, IronCAD and Dynfos ERP work together seamlessly.
Meijboom explains how Dynfos helps manufacturing companies automate processes, "We see that most companies start with our 3D CAD package first. A 3D design reflects reality and, unlike a 2D drawing, matches the perception of the end customer. A photorealistic rendering is made in no time; moreover, the 3D drawing is the basis for production control."
Korfage adds: "From here, Para-Flex analyzes the drawing and automatically generates all the information needed for production. Thus CNC machines, regardless of brand, can be controlled directly and without error."
This optimization of production is proving a success, Meijboom says. "Manufacturing companies are achieving higher productivity and growing. We notice that afterwards the need arises to automate administrative processes as well. The Dynfos ERP application fits in well with this. It makes production, administrative, logistical and financial processes transparent within a single management system."
The name IronCAD is short for "Industrial Revolution on CAD. It provides simple tools for quickly setting up 3D environments with interior components. "Whether it's individual furniture, kitchens or complete store interiors, all conceivable shapes and material types, such as wood, metal and plastic, are among the possibilities. Not only is creation fast, but any modifications can be made easily and very quickly. This makes IronCAD ideally suited for the interior design industry."
Korfage continues: "From this industry, we noticed a need for easy generation of saw lists and plate optimization, among other things. This prompted us to develop Para-Flex. This software enables users to combine the flexible, free drawing method of IronCAD with accurate work preparation up to CNC control. This is very useful in custom interior design projects, where precision in production data is a requirement. Para-Flex analyzes the parts from the drawing and knows which materials and processes are linked. Drawing and work preparation merge here. This ensures faster lead times. Re-typing is a thing of the past, so costs are reduced."
New users get a good start with training at Dynfos. "Drawing with IronCAD is easy to learn. After a two-day training course, new users can already get an excellent start with IronCAD. Even after that, the customer is listened to and the software is continuously optimized."
You can discover the various possibilities from October 20 to 24 at the Prowood trade fair in Ghent.
