Your own professionals ultimately determine how customers in the marketplace value your work. That's the way it is everywhere. And so it is also true for Finitouch. Custom interiors are developed at the company in Amersfoort. Marc van Rijssen, commercial project manager, says that about 85% of the orders come from the corporate office network and the remaining from 15% individuals, who are then often affiliated with the clients from that aforementioned 85%. "But whoever the client is ... at the end of the day, it's always our own employees - whatever position they hold - who have to prove our value to the market."
Therefore, in an increasingly tight labor market, it is not always easy to find good staff. Marc acknowledges it immediately. "Not for nothing do we have contact with education, for example with some vocational schools. We also work together with the Wood and Furnishing College who can supply us with young specialists. So do we engage with them right away? Well, we always show them all aspects of our company for a period of time. Call it test runs. During that time, the team leaders in particular get a good understanding of the potential new colleagues. So, what they are like and what they can do. And also, how they would further
can help."
When Marc is asked what competencies are then looked at, he naturally mentions "being able to work together. "But we also look at the willingness to learn. And, are they able to create new insights with us? Interior design is a field that is always innovating on technique and materialization. Ultimately, it's about a wide range of competencies
and qualities."
Because, of course, the goal is to satisfy the customer, the client. "And so that is only possible with professionals," Marc says.
There are currently 41 employees working at Finitouch. "The largest number of colleagues work in production - these are the furniture makers - in addition to which we have 5 colleagues who assemble every day. They are always on the road! They have an important task as Finitouch's business card during the execution. Furthermore, 4 employees are involved in machine preparation and 12 are in the office. A large diverse team, each with their own expertise. But the big common denominator is clear: everyone is aware that we have to link many different parts of the process together. Consequently, everyone contributes to the execution of a project. And, everyone also knows as a result that only the success of execution proves our value in the market."
