Develop new DecoLegno headquarters on HoogTij

Development of new DecoLegno headquarters at HoogTij

High Tide attractive to interior design industry

HoogTij, the port location of the Zaanstreek and Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, is proving to be an attractive location for companies in the Dutch interior design industry. DecoLegno is also going to settle here permanently, and recently obtained ownership of a plot of land. This marks the start of the development of a contemporary and sustainable headquarters.

For the development of a new headquarters, DecoLegno recently acquired ownership of a 3350 m² plot of land at HoogTij. Ten years ago, DecoLegno was founded in Zaandijk by Patrick Leering, Guido Hofman and Annemarie Wallenburg. As exclusive supplier of the collection of decorative sheet material of the Italian brand Cleaf, the company is now an established name among architects, interior designers and furniture makers. This year marks its 10th anniversary, and with plans to develop a new business location at HoogTij, the company is entering a new phase.

HoogTij is a centrally located location with business lots in the industrial heart of the Zaanstreek and Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. The area is in full development with ambitious plans for sustainability and circular business. At the end of 2018, the new headquarters of interior design company Zuiver opened its doors. And that was perhaps the biggest trigger for other parties from the interior industry to also want to establish themselves in this location.

Respect for the characteristic Zaanish landscape

The plans for the new headquarters of DecoLegno were developed in close cooperation with the municipality of Zaanstad, architectural consultancy B22 and Nunc Architects. With respect for the surroundings and the sightlines to the characteristic Zaan landscape, a building has been designed that meets contemporary requirements with regard to sustainability and design.

"The building provides an expressive termination of the street wall through its recognizable roof shape, and its distinct entrance. Through this entrance and the large window that gives a view of the showroom, the new building breathes DecoLegno," said Mr. Brunsmann of Nunc Architects.

"The development prospects of HoogTij, its central location and the presence of other interior design companies were decisive for us to choose this location. Our ambition is to be in the 2e quarter 2022 to move into the new headquarters," said Guido Hofman of DecoLegno.
