COREtec® helps local shoe store out of trouble

The unseen rainfall last summer, caused a lot of flooding and damage in the children's shoe store Étoile in Knokke. A new floor was therefore desperately needed. Two craftsmen laid a new COREtec® floor in just one day.

The streets were flooded that day and Anathé Huys' business also had to suffer. "The cloudburst was very intense and especially very local," explains Anathé. "The water did not enter through the front door, but through the toilet located at the back of the store. We had never seen such a powerful flow of dirty water before and it really scared us. The basement was immediately flooded; the remaining water flowed into the store."

There was a solid carpet in Étoile that absorbed a lot of water, but still, of course, there was a lot of damage. "In our basement there was 15 centimeters of water. So the bottom shelves of our stock which included the new collection were completely broken. Moreover, on those shelves there were also a lot of paper bags, printed materials and window display materials."

Quality, durable and beautiful

Under the fitted carpet was still an old tile floor that detracted from the style of the store, according to Anathé. "That floor really didn't fit our concept. That's why we chose carpet a few years ago. Our new floor had to match our concept as well as be high quality, durable and beautiful. Our COREtec floor meets these requirements.® all the way!"

"We chose the floor 'Regina' from the AuthenticsCollection because of its rme color. The floor feels and looks very natural. What's more, it can take a beating, which is obviously very handy with all the baby carriages, scooters and roller skates that come in here. And by the sea, of course, you also have to deal with the necessary sand. Fortunately, the floor is very easy to maintain. A good mopping is now easy, whereas with our carpet it was obviously impossible," concludes Anathé.
