Quality and sustainability come together at Ecoplex

Beautiful straight logs, tassel-free wood, light in color and weight. The logs are carefully sorted for use. Only the finest and purest poplar logs are thinly peeled and are suitable for the top quality of Ecoplex. These poplars form the basis for Ecoplex, the environmentally friendly plywood. The result is consistent quality, a fine layer structure and a panel that is pleasant to work with.

Ecoplex is the standard-bearer when it comes to fair and sustainable materials. The poplar as a base, a relative fast grower available close to "home". Graded veneer layers and proper drying and production processes produce a perfect board. Ecoplex is available certified according to FSC and PEFC.

The base of Ecoplex, the poplar, is grown. Planting is done mostly along field fields. The cuttings are planted in straight lines and are ready for felling after about 10 to 15 years. During felling, this method causes no damage to adjacent trees or forest. After felling, the newest cuttings are immediately replanted. The poplar does not grow in forest stands with older trees or in primeval forests, simply because it does not survive there.

Trees absorb CO² and release oxygen. Planting trees and in this case the poplar is a sensible action. Part of the CO² emission is compensated by this. In addition, the transport lines from the fields to the factory and from the factory to the customers are short. Weighing 380 to 450 kg/m3, Ecoplex is a lightweight, which makes not only processing but also moving or transporting easy. The short transport lines and low weight make it economical with energy.

Ecoplex has a Class 1 bonding as far as formaldehyde emission is concerned and thus remains within the European standards. The E1 standard requires formaldehyde emissions lower than 0.1 ppm (parts per million) according to the EN 717-1 standard.

Ecoplex NAF (No Added Formaldehyde) is a completely formaldehyde-free glued plywood with very low emissions. By applying Ecoplex NAF, a contribution can be made to a healthy indoor climate. This is in line with sustainable building with LEED and BREEAM.
